In my household, we tend to leave a lot of notes for each other or notes to plan the day, so I was immediately intrigued by the 3D memo pad. Plus, we absolutely love Italy. Each page we use will be a small reminder of our times there. Win-win!
My first impression is that the paper is high quality; and though I've yet to write enough memos to see the leaning tower 'emerge' from the pages, I'm confident we'll like the end product because the already visible cutouts are well done. There are also smaller cutouts to find on some of the individual sheets, which is a nice stylistic touch.
So why four stars? Two things keep me from leaving a max rating. First, the colors of the pages vary. I *can* appreciate why: the contrast helps the cutouts pop. That *is* a nice touch. However, for note taking, the darker sheets will require a different pen if they are going to be clearly legible. As much as I love the novelty of the design, this isn't terribly practical to me. Ultimately, this *is* a notepad and I want my notes to be readable. Second, the pages are a bit small and have a perforation down the middle. I guess this is to make it easier to tear out pages or leave really short notes? I'm still working that out. The point is your notes will not be limited by available space (and the perforations do seem to make it a little harder to tear off a full page).
I admit that these practical limitations may not bother you, in which case you will likely be more enthusiastic about the notepad overall. Regardless, we've found the reveals to be fun, which definitely increased the enjoyment factor of making day-to-day lists!
